Default Imitation harley sold in HD dealerships

I've been to two different dealers that have each had one of these imitation harley looking bikes for sale. I was going to look them up to find out what the deal was, but can't remember the name.

They look like bad imitiations of stereotypical harleys -- and they are dirt cheap ($3500 ish)..

I have never seen another brand of bike sold in an HD store, and the fact that I've seen the same bike in two different HD stores made me think maybe i'm missing something..
Any ideas? Or was this just some weird coincidence?

I've never heard of such a thing. Sure the dealers didn't sell other makes as well?

One of the independent shops locally used to sell some chinese made bikes that looked like cruisers but had about 150cc engines. They sold for about $3,500. Can't remember the name either.

I would think you were missing something.. maybe it wasa sportster

All existing new HD dealerships as of a couple years ago were able to keep their own brands of bikes but had to put HD first. All new Dealerships that are only HD dealerships are not allowed to take on other brands....... They have ot keep them seperate...

Of course this is just what I heard.

From a business standpoint not one business owner who is running a shop would have a chinese bike for sale on their showroom. They build these multi million dollar buildings to attract people with money. They would not ruin the image they are tryin to create and clients they are trying to attract by having a chinese (only imatation bike that fits the budget) on the floor. Here is a company hwo makes such a bike

They even have a copy of the sportster

Kidding guys, Seriously

It wasn't one of those automatic clutch thingy bikes? There was one at the local Harley shop a couple of months ago. I can't remember the name. Something like Russel or something.

Are you maybe thinking of Ridley? They are autos, but not in the $3500 price range!!

Yeah, Ridley was the one. I didn't ask the price. Probably not in the $3500 range.

Thename is"Vento" chinese, the largest I think goes up to 250cc, very cheap looking. Those could fool me... maybe 10 years ago when I drank a bottle of scotch and with two miles of fog in between...

Regards.
