I have made the ride on PCH/101, beautiful ride. I had no issue with bike security, most of the motels/hotels let me park it next to the room or in front of the office. I went in July and it was a traffic nightmare at times with all of the families vacationing, tour buses, etc, but a beautiful ride.

Many years ago I was at a bike event thinking about what it was that got me interested in motorcycles. Was it the beauty and freedom of the open road? Was it the camaraderie and brotherhood of like minded guys that also rode motorcycles? Or maybe it was the looks, power and sound of V-Twin engines. As I pondered the question a voice came over the loud speaker and said, "Alright. The wet T-shirt contest will be starting in 10 minutes" and that's when it hit me!

Just a beautiful Summer weekend doing day rides. Saturday I headed down PCH and then through the canyons to Cook's Corner, a local Biker's hangout. Hadn't been there all year, and it was my Road King's debut there. It was a wonderful ride, combining PCH, local highways and roads, with lots of ocean and canyon scenery.
It was too short of a ride. I needed much more of that.
