I hear this story all the time(not just picking on you) If you want a Harley you will find a way to get one. I paid $2500 for a (barely) used Sportser in 1988. Nine years later I got $3500 on a trade in for the same bike. Love all you converts!

I converted after about 10 years of riding jap rockets. I worked at a honda dealer through school and it just went from there, but decided it was time to grow up and bought a new denim blue night train. Best thing I have ever done!!

Well, converted. I've never riden a Harley. I've been riding for20 years now and owned a wide range of bikes, even worked at a Harley dealer when I was 18 years old. I just paid off my 04 Suzuki Volusia right before being deployed. I stopped in at the small trailer they have set up here with a HD sign in front and started looking at one of the catalogs and saw the bike that I liked. Well I did my research and then went in and made my purchase about 4 weeks ago. Without ever riding a Harley but being around them all of my life I believe I am in for a real life changing experance. 08 StreetGlide and waiting until Oct to get it. I've always loved Harleys but I love dependablity more. Does this make me converted? Waiting to find out.

RE: Did you convert to Harley?
I have been riding for more than 40 years. I started on Cushman scooters, went to a Mustang and then to Bultacos when desert racing became my 'thing'. I stayed with Bultaco until Honda made a decent dirt bike and I bought the first XR 500 that I saw. I rode XRs until a few years ago when I went to KTMs. As I got older I went to dual-sports. I purchased a Suzuki GS 1100 in 1980 and rode it sparingly on the street until '92. I sold it and didn't ride on the street again until I dual-sported an XR Honda. After the KTM LC4 650 lost its appeal and I sold it, I wondered what I should try next. I selected a H-D XL 883 Custom. That particular bike was a mistake, but it got me into the H-D world. I now have both an XL 1200 R (great bike after some suspension mods) and a Road King Classic (really great bike). I was surprised at just how much I truly enjoy riding either bike. I will have one or two H-Ds until the day that I noLonger ride. I also own a Honda XR 650 R. I wouldn't even have a hiccup if it were gone tomorrow. ............... BC
