Blaring stereo at gas station- odd scenario. Your take?
Riding in So WI the past few days.....got gas at a local station, pulled off to the side of the parking lot in some shade, went inside to use restroom then returned to bike.
As I left the gas stations front door I suddenly heard Elton Johns "Dont Let the Sun Go Down On Me" playing. I initially thought it was the gas station playing music (some do that via speakers by the pumps), as I walked to my bike I saw some guy on an Ultra (older guy, scraggly beard, cargo shorts, kinda had a Jimmy Buffet outfit on) was the one blaring the song from his bike. His bike wasn't running, it was off as he fueled up.
Wouldn't have thought much of it, but it was REALLY LOUD. I was 20 yards away and it was loud. It was kinda peculiar...as he didn't turn it off. It got even weirder when he was done fueling and was about to head in to pay, he actually turned it up LOUDER, then went inside to pay for gas or whatnot. So he is inside the store and his bike is blaring this song....he was alone by the way.
Does this seem peculiar to anyone?
I've seen younger folks blast music w/ car stereos (we all have)....or someone pull up on a bike blasting music....but never in my life have I seen someone turn it up louder then leave the vicinity and leave the music playing.
People at other pumps and walking back to their parked cars were looking around wondering what was going on.
Some people are self centered and inconsiderate. You encountered one of those people. Be thankful that you can just get on your bike and ride away from him.
I was out at a local spot on route 66 yesterday, it's a place where everyone stops that are out for day rides or traveling old 66. I go at least once a week end. I'm always amazed at the guys that pull in with their radio blaring obnoxiously. If it's not the radio, then they are racking off the pipes.
See / hear a lot of that with the sill sound system many install. they spent the cash now they have to make sure every one listens to their carp. Lot of them play some RAP BS. Because people can't use their heads $1,000 fines should be used.
A Harley owner thats desperate for attention thats insane, next thing you know people will spend hours polishing chrome and taking baffling out of their exhausts to make them louder

+1 here.
I bet this guy also parks in the space next to handicap parking or at the end of the row instead of a normal parking spot.
