Damn Bees!!!

Less than half way through the good riding season and I got my fourth bee sting today.
Most times they hit my torso and crawl to a nice meaty spot to sting but this one hit on my forehead and crawled behind my sunglasses before planting its stinger near my right eyebrow. I let go of the throttle and pulled the glasses off but trying to grab the critter made me lose the grip on the glasses so off they went into the ether.
Walked both sides of the road with an increasingly swelling eyebrow and couldn't find my sunglasses, had to ride home with none which is worse than the sting. Another "spare" item to start carrying.
Just felt like venting, I guess being so sweet has its drawbacks.

RE: Damn Bees!!!
I rode through a swarm of bees a few years ago. Really nasty, Over a period of about five seconds ... I hit about 50 bees ... bee guts and honey all over the front of my bike including the fairing and windshield. Not one actually hit me, lucky I guess. It was a real pain to clean up though!

RE: Damn Bees!!!
I got one on my lip about a month ago. Damn thing hurt for a week! Last year I was cruising along and came up to a redlight. As I stopped I was hearing this strange sound. There was a truck making a left in front of me, from the right and I thought "that truck's got a leaking tire or something". The truck went up the road and I still heard it. I pulled back the ear flap on my ACC helmet and a damn yellow jacket fell out of my ear onto the street. Still alive and kicking. Just played it cool and mashed him under foot. Cannot believe I wasn't stung!

When I took the MSF Basic rider course in 2002 the instructor told us about a buddy of his who was on his way to go on a bike trip with him . He never showed up - they found him in the ditch dead with his mouth open and hundreds of bee stings in his throat and mouth. Talk about a bummer
