I just don't get why some people on motorcycles think that they have the right to theroad over all other traffic. Are you all so insecure that you can't get from point A to point B without being joined at the hip? If you are, take the bus.
Everyone knows where the ride is going, everyone knows how to get there, and if some ofyou arrive 3 minutes apart becauseyou followed traffic laws, so what.
I just finished a ride of 1,800 miles in 5 dayswith 14 bikes. We didn't stop traffic, we didn't run red lights and stop signs, and we didn't have to be constantly herded up in such a long line that it interferred with other traffic. Remarkably, we all ended up at the same place within minutes of each other.
People on this board are constantly posting about cages not respecting their right to the road, and at the same time we feel we have some right not to respect theirs.

As far as the post about the 1%'s committing violent and brutal acts against people and thinking it is alright, and that the "NEW WAVE"us real bikers are wrong, you never have to worry about this "REAL BIKER" invading your space. I would not want to be on the same road with you or have you in a group I am inwith the attitude you have.
As far as the "OLD SCHOOL" class of the"FOLLOW THE LEADER COURSE", that is what sheep tend to do.

don't you ever get a nosebleed up on that soapbox of yours? right/ and legal? you probably obey ALL laws all the time right?? b.s. and as far as my ability to ride, you got no clue. i love people who hide behind their computer and assume that they are the good riders and everybody else is clueless. like i said, cops would rather we block traffic than have to clean up the mess from an accident.

Some people hide behind their computers so much as to not even disclose their profile on the computer they are hiding behind.

Well first it is not legal and if you get mowed down blocking a green light I'm sure the liability is yours. With that said, as a LEO I have never bothered a large charity ride. LEO's will be happy to help out. My son recently did a run for a sick friend and two states helped as well as escorting the whole run with motor officers.
I have also been that biker blocking an intersection. I have found that if the group stops for a red light then blocks the intersection when their light is green, it is much safer because the opposing traffic is already stopped. As long as everyone uses a little common sense (yeah right) you should be o.k.

Don't think I am hiding behind a comuter. I have posted enough here, met andridden with enough people on this forum and been around long enough that I am a pretty open book. And, my profileIS posted. Hiding behind a computer?? I don't think so.
I was a cop for 20 years, so don't tell me what cops would rather have motorcyclists do. Most cops expect motorcyclists to obey the law just like everyone else. Should be no need to be cleaning up a mess of an accident if everyone is riding safe and obeying the law and not thinking that just because they are on a motorcycle they have some special exclusion when it comes to the use of public highways. The messes come when arrogant people break the laws, ride like they own the road, and try to force their will on other drivers.
Most police departments have no problem with helping out on charity runs, but the department I was with certainly didn't approve of people taking it upon themselves.

Good morning all,,,,befor the fists fly,,,a couple of things to conceder.
1) Its a forum,,,its a debate,,,instead of being a PC rambo,,,backup your words with experience not personal attacks....
2) There are3 kinds of bikers in here:
A)The Old school,,,learned what they know by hardknocks(experance)....(To some they may look like Sheep,,,but trust me they bite like a lion)..
B)The New Wave,,,,book smart,,,more posts than miles on the road...becouse its in print,,or taught by some government innsttutuon...it must be the right thing to do...
C) NewBees,,,wanting to learn...here for good information....
3) There are many different style of riding,,,what work for one group may not work for another,,,whats done in the city,,,,might not apply in the woods,,,vise the verse..
4) I see a big riff between A) and B) riders....
5) Common sence will take u a long way on your scoot....
