N 94 I was in the market for a bike After spending 10 years on ironheads and tried to get an 81 FLT rubber mounted 5 speed shovel (1st generation RG) Ended up on and 87 electric glide for 10 years then 04 I got The 2nd generation road glide, and wondered wtf took so long ,In 15 when the 3rd generation road glide came out I had to have one,I got the 2nd black one that came in flt are the best in my opinion,if you google" Harley Davidson Liberator "from 1976 you will find the prototype ,Vetter made the front fairing

The two most widely reported were
A. Sumping with the stage 4 kits, and some 117 CVOs
B. Oil transfer from the trans to the primary with sustained higher RPM.

I nearly did what you did, but when I compared the two - The SGS already had the premium radio, along with the hard candy paint option, black chrome, ABS, extended bags, the Talon low profile wheels front and back. For for me, it was worth the extra $$$.
