Pacific (West Coast) Rally - Sept 14 to 17, 2007 (update 08/19/07)
UPDATE ---------------------------------------------------------------
8/19/07
PLEASE REGISTER!
I've added a registration page to the web site http://www.bluesplace.com/PacificRally/. Please register as soon as yu can so I can be sure I know how many people we are expecting. This really makes it much easier for planning. I haven't placed an edit page on the site yet but it's coming (I have to have time[&:]) in the mean time notify me if you have a change. THANKS!!!
Don't forgetto chck that site for up to the minute information, I'll be posting Maps, directions, and other ride information on that site.
07/24/07
We have rooms! Since the poll count was sporatic, and the HolidayInn seemed a bit over budget for some,I went with the mid-price hotel that had good ratings on Travel Advisor. It's not the ritz but I think it will be great regardless! When I called the GM Gary was great and gave us another $25 discount on the rooms! They don't have a resturant or bar but they do have a large hot tub (Click here to read about the hotel but don't book online) -- I've move the information below.
*Please remember to help me get some counts of who is coming so I can plan accordingly by clicking the info in the poll (I've removed the hotels)*
Don't forget to order your shirt! --> https://www.hdforums.com/m_1896711/tm.htm --I need at least 12 shirts ordered to get a decent price...
Whew! With that done I'm working on the details (The fun part begins). I will have a packet ready ASAP. May be needing some volenteers as Road Capitans and Tail Gunners depending on the amount of riders we get.....If you have experience that would be great! I'll be adding the HOG group riding signals to the packets.

THE RALLY
After seeing all the rallies I'm feeling a bit left out way out here on the left coast. Sooooo I thought I would put together something for us.
That's right a Left Coast Rally! Ok let's call it the Pacific Rally (maybe next time we'll even find a beach)
I did the best I could to get the Rally North and East some so it's accessible to more folks and of course EVERYONE IS WELCOME! Here are some sample distances --
Miles to Mammoth Lakes from:
--------------------------------------
Los Angeles, CA = 309 miles
Las Vegas, NV = 308 Miles
Medford, OR = 471 Miles
Pheonix, Az = 611 Miles
Portland, OR = 741 Miles
Reno, NV = 167 Miles
San Francisco = 260 Miles
San Diego, CA = 396 Miles
--------------------------------------
Since this is such short notice things will be added as I get them going.
So far this is what I have (thanks to those that voted):
Where: Mammoth Lakes, CA
When: Sept. 14 - 17
Hotel: Quality Inn 3537 Main St. , Mammoth Lakes, CA, US, 93546 -- Phone: (760) 934-5114

RE: Pacific (West Coast) Rally - Sept 14 to 17, 2007
This would be a nice scoot on Sunday (209 miles RT.) The road from Bridgeport to Smith Valley is real scenic. Topaz has a casino where you can drop a dime or two. The Mountain View Barbeque in Walker has outstanding food.

Tamarack Lodge brings back memories. I had a restaurant in the lodge one very snowy winter back in the last century.
Can't beat the YNP ride over Tioga though we'll probably be riding back late in the evening. I'm sure we'll want to stop a lot and as you say the speed limits are slow through the park.
It all sounds good. We could possibly lay out several possible routes/activities and folks could chose which they wanted to do with us all meeting back at some central spot for dinner Saturday night. We may need to split up the rides anyway depending on how many of us show up.
thanks for the work on this so far BlueRose.

Mammoth Mountian Inn (probably going to be the choice hotel) has a gondola/ mountian biking/ and a great place just down the slope for hiking (devil's post pile and rainbow falls)....
