Default Throttle by wire question..

Hello! Ive been working on my new handle bar today and came across few things I wanted to make sure of before I proceeddddd.. so few questions.. (bike: 2018 street bob)

1. First of all....Can the trottle by wire sensor wires be extended with solder & extra wires?

2. I've chopped a TBW sensor wires.. in attempt to extend to suit new handlebar... without realising the wires aren't colour coded...
i have 2x red, 2x black and 2x white....

Sigh! Lol

Oh that sucks ! Im no wiring expert but I would say yes they can be extended by soldering and sealing. You may need a shop manual / wiring diagram to get them correctly positioned. Good luck !

See any numbers on the plug and throttle sender. Not sure if this helps??? Never ever just cut a covered cable even with electronics off. Even with no power, cutting like that can briefly connect and kill stuff. The part man at a dealership may have one to match where all goes is the best bet.

You need a multi meter so you can do continuity test on all those wires . And then label each one with the number
But you are still going to need the diagram for that throttle controller

also if that was made in Germany each one of those wires would have been a different color !

Check and see if your bike matches these schematics. If you can get to the Twist Grip Sensor and determine which wire is which you may get lucky. Softail Models - Hand Controls, Backbone 1,Engine Harness 2 of 3
