Default New bike..bad battery?

Rode my '07 Ultra 200 miles on Thursday, parked it until last night. It was COMPLETELY dead. Nothing was left on,I always lock the ignition, even in the garage. Exactly 1000 miles on it, was supposed to go in for the 1K this morning. Dealer had to come pick it up and I just talked to them on the phone. They can find nothing wrong with the charging system at all. I need to know I'm not going to have a dead battery every 3 days. What would you guys do? Has anyone ever seen anything like this before?

I would tell them to keep looking till they find the problem.

Strange. Some 04 or 05 models had problem with ignition switches that would do that but it's just a guess.I haven't heard of any 07's yet.

When I went to test drive my 07 Sportster the battery was deader than a doornail. They put a new battery in it before I drove it away. I'd ask them for a new battery at least.

Had the same problem with Brat's sportster. it sat for a week and was dead as a door nail, A local tech who is a fried too, stopped by and told me its not uncommon for the 07's. Seems they have a lot of static discharge in there systems this year. I charged it completely up and haven't had that problem since. His advice to me was to pull the main fuse if its gonna sit for a while. Maybe its not charged all the way? Just a guess

My son in law bought a new Yamaha that had a new gel battery installed. It went dead the day he drove it from the lot. The dealership checked the bike out and could not find anything wrong. I asked them to replace the battery which they did and the bike has not had any problems. Chances are, your battery has a deadcell.

I thought the same thing happened to mine. It wouldn't start then I realized the 07's have the clutch safety switch. I was in 1st gear and that is why it wouldn't start. All my lights were on though. Must be the battery for you
