Harley almost riders always wave. Rice Cruiser riders almost always wave. Sportbike riders almost always wave.
The only ones who rarely (almost never) wave are the folks on Goldwings. Those are the snobs around here (not all of them of course, but many).

Maybe you don't get any waves from the Goldwings because you can't see their arm from behind all of the plastic?

I never thought of that.

WIFE BEATER: (noun) 1. tank-style underwear shirts. Origin: based on the stereotype that physically abusive husbands wear that particular style of undershirt.

Suki, Trust me, it's a pointless debate. Doesn't matter what kind of bike the waver or non-waveris on. What matters is that some riders wave and others don't. I wave and usually get a wave in return. I've gotten snubbed or ignored by riders on all types of bikes from every country on the planet.
Ever see the movie "Meatballs"? Remember what they chanted?
"It just doesn't matter! It just doesn't matter! It just doesn't matter!............

When I rode my SV1000S just a few weeks ago, pretty much all riders wave at me (except Harley riders). Now that I am on a Street Glide, NO ONE waves at me.
Oh well.

Thank you all, for the replies!
I'm trying to instill some good manners into the kid, so initially, when he told me he wasn't gunna wave to Harley owners, i told him i thought he should wave to EVERY biker. my feeling is: two wheels is two wheels, and we ALL ride cuz we love to do so, and make/model has no bearing, as far as i'm concerned.
nice to see the 'other side', tho, as we've discussed this on a Suzuk forummany times: good to hear the HD version/perspective.
i appreciate the feed back!
and hey, if i see yah, i will wave!!!!

I grew up in a small town in Oklahoma. Everyone there waves at every car, truck, tractor, bike, moped, cow they pass. Itis just the way it was done there. When I moved away for awhile I would wave at folks I didn't know and they would kinda stare at me like I was a freak or something. I guess in some places it is just done as much. No problem with that, but I still wave.
