Living in Wisconsin is bad enough when it comes to not riding for 4-5 months each year. This year spring didn't really every arrive till very late. Then as luck would have it I needed cataract surgery the end of April. What is mostly drive through surgery for most people didn't happen for me. Somehow I got a third of the outer surface of my Cornea scraped off! I have been trying to heal for the last four weeks. Countless array of drops, different types of contacts to try and promote healing. Vision is about 20/150 last Friday, maybe better today but a long way from the 20/40 I need for my job as a trainer/driver for a school bus company.
Yesterday I felt Ok to get on the bike seeing shapes and movement out of my right eye. Took my 2014 Limited for a tank draining ride. It was awesome!!!! Felt like a freedom/birthright was being returned to me. Don't know how long it will last if I can't get my eye back to work but for now I have my riding back. I didn't go anywhere fantastic just a little stroll around Southeastern Wisconsin. Today I got the wife on back and burned up another tank. She missed it too she said. Last summer was lost to a different eye surgery for me and Intestinal surgery for my wife. Wonder what it'll be like when we get old and sick!

 

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with the cataract surgery. I dreaded having it when I was diagnosed. Glad it only comes around one time. I wouldn't want to do it again. Hope you heal well and soon.

 

Next work on cutting down that 4-5 month lag. Though this was a late year, due to lack of rain to wash the salt off the roads. But was a warm spring, just a week of late snow.
