On my newly purchased 2013 Ultra Limited, my wife found sitting on her perch uncomfortable because the crash bars protecting the bags hit her in the calves. Her statement to me was "This is not as comfortable as the Goldwing."
Is there any lateral adjustment to the bars? I seem to remember seeing some photos of bars closer to the bags than mine are.

 

You might want to adjust the passenger footboards.There is also a different style bag guard that is "tapered" a bit.

 

There are a few companies that make adjustable floorboard mounts that give forward and back adjustment as well as up and down.

 

I have seen pictures of the passenger with her/his legs wrapped around the rider's waist. Just sayin'...

 

either remove the bars, raise her floorboards(thats what we did), go back to GW.

 

One of the guys I ride with had a similar problem, or should I say his girl friend had the issue.
He just tweaked it, a little... I would have to ask him if he used anything to assist him or just a few pounds of pressure in the right spot.
But he bent (pushed) the bar back enough so it did not bother her and you could not tell unless you wear looking for it.
