Run your hand over the front tire. If you feel any cupping, replace the tire.
Could be that simple.

I checked them and they are .0045 on the left and .0055 on the right.
Called the dealer and they told me NO!

I'm fairly convinced that OEM rotors are junk across the board. I have had good luck with EBC brake components, specifically their floating Big Twin rotors for the front, with sintered pads. If it were me, I wouldn't even bother with OEM even under warranty. In fact, my rear brakes have squeaked since day one, and when I need to pull the rear wheel for a tire change I'm putting EBC gear on both ends of the bike.

It's more than likely the surface. You can have up to .008 runout out near the outside. When the runout exceeds .008, you fill it in the lever. When the surface is uneven, it a shudder like you describe.

Be sure the rotors are not too thin. At .0055, bet some of that is out of parallel. Minimum thickness is probably .180. Should be stamped on rotors. Mine were gone at 30K. Out of parallel also goes shudder since brake grabs and releases. Check that with a cheap 0-1 mic from Harbour. A dial caliper will not work for this inspection.

I have a measured 4.92 right and 4.95 mm left, the rotors are stamped 4.5 mm min. The rotors measure the same wherever I measure them, so they are not crazy out of parallel.
I have removed the rotors and did not realize until then that they are true floating rotors, so they would have to be very warped to cause a shake and they are not that bad.

I'm in the process of block sanding them clean with some 220 grit.
It's taken a couple hours but the first one is done.
I read an article that claims the pulsating is caused by pad material that has transferred to the rotor. I figure I have nothing to lose, get them down to clean parent material and give it a try.

**** It worked!!! at least for now, the brakes are working perfectly.

I'm glad to hear that it worked out to be a cheap fix for you. Did you replace the pads at the same time?

New pads are on the way. In the mean time, I'm being really gentle with the brakes.
