I'm sorry guys, I was exhausted when I got home last night. Well, the exciting news is, I'm now the proud owner of a 2014 Dyna Low Rider! Woo hoo! It has ABS and factory security, Vance & Hines pipes, forward controls, engine guard, and some nice HD grips. It's an interesting bike, in that it's Superior Blue, which wasn't offered on the LR until 2016. So the previous owner maybe swapped with somebody or something. So it's a '14 with '16 tins.
The dealer (Moroney Cycles in Newburgh, NY) gave me the absolute lowest number on the Sporty that I was willing to accept. I'm not "happy" about it, but the Sport needs a new fender and has some very minor oil weeping at the rocker boxes. Not enough that anyone would even notice, but to the dealer "we can't sell it that way," so they deduct for it. Yeah, that's how it works.
As much as I loved my Sport, which was my first bike, I put 24K on it in just under 3 years, and I felt like it was time. I spent days mulling this over and I feel like I made the right call.
The Low Rider has a brand new set of Michelin Scorcher 31 tires. I did a 45 min stint through a rainstorm coming home, and I might as well have been on a wave runner, it was great.
One thing I needed immediately was a windshield. They happened to have the HD Quick Release Super Sport shield in stock, which is the same one I had on the Sport. They gave me a discount so I bought it on the spot, assembled it and rode out with it. Great shield! No buffeting at all.
I'm waiting for a lumbar pad for the seat to arrive, I REALLY need that with these forward controls. That aside, all I want to do is ride it. Maybe a few months down the line when I get my balance down I'll be ready for a set of saddle bags. For now, I'm using my tail bag.
It will take some miles for me to get used to everything and settle in, but for now...wow...I can't believe this is my bike.

All, thanks for the nice comments! As the bike is configured, the forward controls are too far out. Tomorrow I should be receiving the lumbar pad that the stock seat originally came with, but wasn't included on mine. I'm hoping this solves my issue, because after a 130 round trip to work yesterday, I feel like I did this trip on a horse, lol. My legs are still feeling it.

Having traded my 1200 Custom for a 2014 Low Rider a few months ago, I share your excitement. I'm sure that the lumbar pad will make it just right for you. That said, don't be surprised if it takes a few hundred miles for your body to adjust to the new riding position. Sometimes a bike that seems comfortable at first ceases to be that way, and one that causes aches and pains at first turns out to be just fine.
I'm impressed that you had no buffeting with the screen. Was that even at highway speeds? I have a fly screen that is great until I'm going 70mph+ when, although tolerable, some buffeting kicks in. I had a proper HD QD screen on the Sportster that was even worse above 60mph. So, I'd be interested if you've found something that works even at highway speeds.

On the windshield, yes, even at 75mph it's great!
