2014 and up are a different system. Time will tell if it's better than this one but on the surface the engineering is better. They link the front and rear brakes, so if you apply front brakes it also applies partial rear brakes like a proportioning valve in a car. Same if you apply the rear brakes I believe it also applies pressure to one front caliper. I have to see the hydraulic schematic for it before I would say it's good or bad, and how the ABS module functions.
The brake linking you are talking about, is that only for the Touring models or does it apply to any model that has ABS?
Because there are still old dudes that will swear they are better at braking and don't need it. LOL
First time I got breaks on and was like a sponge /needed bleading .when I grab a hand full of front brake that is hard to lock up. now it's like death is near. Who has locked up front brake. The front will dive way before locking up. Plenty of time to stop anti locks $u(k

I was 1 of those "old guys" After almost going down in a a crowd of other bikes and going sideways, I swore I would never have a MC without it. I believe in them.
