??? ref I-Pod or similar devices played on my Stereo
Sorry but I know nothing about stereo stuff so if you all can help...
I'm considering getting an I-Pod or one similar digital device toplay downloaded songs thru the auxilliary jack on my Electra Glides' stereo.
What devices are compatible with my Aux jack/stereo to do this? I know I-Pod is by Apple and other companies make similar device. Which ones are OK and what capabilities do I have to look for on them to know they'll work thru my Aux jack? Do I need additional components to hook the two together? Or is it just a wire with the right sized jack on each end?
Thanks

Pretty much any device thatuses a 3.5mm jack. I know folks that have plugged in Sirius satellite radios, IPods, generic mp3 players and even cell phones that have music players built in.
When I had my 99 EG I had a CD/MP3 player in my saddlebag. Ran an3.5mm maleto 3.5mm male cable (6' length from Radio Shack) under the seat and through the console on top of the gas tank. Plug it in and you now have an AUX input showing on the display (at least the radio/cassette deck on my 99 worked that way).

If you decide to use an iPod or other MP3 Player, look for one that uses a Flash Drive as opposed to a Hard Drive. Hard Drives do not like the vibrations of a Harley.
