That CB300R looks like a fun little bike. I have no regrets about starting out on small Jap bikes fifty years ago.

Default Not fugly

Hello HD fans,

I don’t think the XG is fugly. I can pick it out in a sea of SG’s that all look like beonce. Mr. T. Monk said “It takes a little ugly to make something beautiful.
Everywhere I go somebody asks me about my little 500. Bassani lets you know I’m around. I am looking at a FXR for stretching out but I will not get rid of my Street. O yeah... no payments. I paid 100 dollar bills for it and rang the bell.
7 Gs. Whats not to like about a bike you can pay cash for? I aint very big..5.7 and the 500 fits me good. I rally over anyone in the twisties. I might put some dirt bike wheels on it and take on some of the passes out here. It is a badazz little bike. I rode it to the top of the world like I stole it. Just as good at 14000 ft as in the flats. It might not be for everybody but it is for me.

Weshicatwelo!

I'm sure it's a blast to ride, but OMG is it ugly!!
IMHO, it would look MUCH better with a round headlight and a small cafe fairing like the Street 500 & 750 have.
God Bless Suzuki for maintaining that classic 90's styling with the 'Busa.

I was reading that the styling of the Hayabusa is one of the biggest selling points and lots of guys didn't like the 2008 update.

And I agree, I hate the "Sci-Fi" bike look.

One of the best bikes I ever owned...

I checked out a new Street Rod 750 yesterday when I dropped our Heritage Classic off for its 1K service.
It looked great from 10 feet away, but it had quite a few "imperfections" when examining it closely.
For example, look at the top of the tank around the frame. This is not the usual HD quality fit and finish. A lot of the welds on the bike look like they were done by a middle school shop class.
I'm not saying all Streets have this issue, just this particular one.

As a positive note, the wiring looks much better than when the Street first came out. It was a jumbled mess back then.

If you buy either bike new, plan on losing 50% when you ride off from the dealer.

I would take the Honda over the Street for every reason I can think of.

Because of the competition in the 300 Metric category, the engineering in each of the 300 range bikes from Kaw, Yam, and Honda is absolutely top tier. The Street is HD's lame and feeble attempt to score some market share OVERSEAS.

Personally, I'd pick a Kaw Ninja 400, what a deal.
