I was looking thru Craig's list and have noticed there's alot of older 2000 and up, choppers being put up for sale. Some of the prices seem a bit high to me. Especially for the ridged frame models. And they all seem to have little to almost no miles on them. Anyone notice the same in your area?.,,

I see them for sale on CL but rarely see any riding around. It seems more people that are interested in V twin bikes are more into comfort than the cool factor of most of these rigid frame bikes. I have nothing against them and can appreciate the looks but know I could not ride comfortably very long so never saw the point in owning one. If money were not an object and I had an endless supply I would probably have one, just because.

Back in the day, those built custom, look at me, fat tire choppers were all the rage, Big Dog was one of the builders. Opening your wallet and spending more than $35,000 was a lot for one 15 yrs ago. They have little value now, I would guess lack of warranty, out-of-business builders, electrical problems, uncomfortable ergo's, trouble insuring one, Harley dealers who won't work on them and the recessession send the prices into the basement. I would imagine many owners went upside down on the loans.
Some are pretty to look at and if I owned one, it would always be parked in a living room.

Even when it was the “in” thing, I didn’t see too many in this area. There’s some, a guy we ride with sometimes has one (and it’s seriously one of the ugliest I’ve seen) but I see way more stock looking bikes when I’m out riding. I see the choppers at the local bike nights and rally’s but it’s apparent those guys just bring them out for those occasions.
