Make sure if you get a 3/4, modular or full face that it is comfortable...

I wore 3 HJC FF for my first 9 years. Then mostly 2 Bell 500s. In the late Fall I bought another Bell 500 and a Revzilla close out: Scorpion EXO R710. I only wore it once before Winter but it’s built very nicely at a great price.

I would prefer to buy my helmets from a store that fits you, but there is nowhere near me, like that. I always thought I had a long oval, but I took a picture of the top of my head, as recommended previously, and it’s more of an intermediate oval.

I switched to a 3/4 because I started going helmetless on hot days, when I was wearing the FF. My son is a paramedic, and he told me once that Harley rider who crashed at 30 mph had his 🧠 brains oozing out his ears. Whenever I feel an urge not to wear a helmet, that mental image kills it immediately.

I really like my shoei neotec modular, great ventilation and extremely comfortable. Nice being able to flip the front up when you want to talk to someone or have a drink of water.

I've always have worn beanies in the summer and 3/4 with a shield in colder weather or on long trips. 11 years ago I was in a bad wreck. I was wearing my 3/4 helmet at the time. The side of the helmet had yellow paint from the road on it. That would have been my face with the beanie. Yesterday I went for a ride wearing a full face helmet. I liked it more than I thought I would.

I have used FF in the past and I am leaning that way now. Helmet technology has improved greatly since I last wore one. They are easier to clean and designed for better ventilation while you are moving

Never having ridden with a FF I thought that I should really try to use one. The few that I tried on over the years just were not comfortable and I couldn't stand them on my head. Last year I was in a second hand store and there was a HJC FF in xxl so I slipped it on. It fit like a glove and now I try to wear it around home but don't take it on long trips yet mostly because I don't want to end up being too hot. I quite like it and no one can argue that it doesn't provide better protection and you can hear the music more clearly cuz all the wind noise is gone

To each their own. My own personal preference is a full face helmet.

Simpson Super Bandit because it fits me really well and I trust the name. If they says it protects to certain standards, then I believe it does.
