Default 2007 vs 2009 Night Train ?

I’d like to purchase a used 2009 Night Train. I’d prefer the 2009 because it’s the youngest of the night trains, but I’m considering a 2007.

Are their any HUGE differences between the 2007 and 2009 to consider ?

cheers

Huge differences? No...But 07 was the first year for the 96/6spd. I know firsthand that the 07 touring bikes were geared tall from the factory but cannot say the same for softails with certainty. If the same does hold true with a tall 6th gear, this may be a bonus for you depending on whether or not you do a lot of higher speed interstate riding. The 09 was the last year of Train production if that means anything to you.

Ron,
Go with the 09 you can't go wrong. My brother has an 07 and I had the 09 and as wide glider mentioned it was the last year for them. I'm the one that posted a picture on my 09 on your FB post.....pull the trigger you'll love it.

Id definitely prefer the 09 because it’s the last version made but only one 2007 night train is selling in my province right now. Most other bikes are a 24 + hour drive away.

Didn't the early 6-speeds have an issue with 5th gear whine?

Night train was my last bike but I had an 05. Traded it for my Low Rider S last year.

can't go wrong with either, but I'd get newer.

I just sold a 07 standard, it was a great bike and had a pile of miles on it. I don't think there is much difference between 07 and 09. I wouldn't hesitate to buy the 07 if it's a decent buy.
