RE: First-time buying advice needed, please
I cannot understand why someone would pay 2 times as much for a dynaas a sportser. The twin cam engine is not as good as the sportster, the ride is not as good as the sportster, the fun is not as good as the sportster After 25k miles you will find yourself upgrading those drivechains to gears like the sportsters have stock...
It bewilders me...

If you really want a Harley, then try to get one in some way that you can afford. A new Sporty would be a great start if you don't want the payments.
If you buy the Metric bike whenever you really want a Harley, you'll be kicking yourself in the a$$ everytime you look at your bike after the newness wears off of it. It won't look the same, sound the same, or be the same as the Harley's going down the road.
Just my opinion. But it's the truth.

Right now, my stealer has 5 XL883's in stock at $7182.00 includes
freight & prep. Also have a XL1200R for $9022.00.
They also have 2 FXD superglides for $13110.00.
IMO, I would opt for new if you can. Buy what you want for it as you can. You then will have a bike that YOU want they way you want, not what sombody else wanted. Plus you have your warranty (and a Harley).
Glad to hear that you and the wife are talking about it first and
it sounds like you are on the right track. Take your time, get what you want and be sure to let us know what you did.
Also, you might find a stealer willing to make a better deal on the 07's in stock as it's almost time for the 08's? I know mine
will (most of the time) and you have cash.
