Default Why do People Care???

Why do people care what other people think of their bikes or what they want to do to their bikes??

I have always done things to my bike for myself. I never asked what anyone thought before I did anything.

I have friends that constantly ask what I and everyone else thinks about ideas and parts they have in mind for their bikes.

A lot of the things they point out aren't in my taste and I am always trying to find a polite way to get out of the conversation..I usually say "cool"

I just don't get it......

Sorry rant over

Haha I get it. Some ppl are very enthused about their bikes and also like to socialize, so I’m sure that’s a big factor. It’s just people being people

The "which bike should I buy?" threads always make me scratch my head.

I don't know for sure, it may be a way of bragging about what they have done, or they may be asking to see if other people would look at it and think it's queer as a three dollar bill. In a way it may be them guarding their pride. I always try to be truthful, without being ugly about it, I'll say "I don't really care for it but if you like it go for it," or I'll say "some people may think it's gay, but I like it."

I get that but not everyone has the same taste. here is an example..I have a buddy that has a Fat Boy and he wants to put on the Road King headlight assembly on it....My opinion is I never liked them on a Fat boy but he does......so when he asked my opinion of it I told him the truth and he got offended...I said hey it's your bike do what you want to and don't care what other people think.

As someone else posted it's the same with the " What Bike should I buy" Threads

Maybe it’s just peoples’ way of talking motorcycles. When hanging out with people that ride, I’d rather talk about parts, mods, and our bikes over talking about politics, work, and other drama.

I'll ask some of my friends for their opinions after the work is already done. I enjoy hearing other people's perspectives whether I agree or not.

I think it's because some people aren't really sure of what they want and the others don't want to find out that what they've done actually looks ridiculous.
