Default anybody get a new bike and get a good deal?

Post up good trade experience and dealer name.
I went in yesterday to try and trade my 2011 in. They didn't want to give me enough on my trade and wanted a several thousand over MSRP. I still have the 2011 but looking to trade up if I can get a solid deal. I wont pay over MSRP. Its not like the bikes are flying out the door or are they?
Thanks HMT

Keep the transactions separate. Never discuss trade until you have a cash price on the new one nailed down. Consider it a cash deal (or your own financing).
You are paying a "convenience fee" when trading in. If you want more for your RG, you will have to sell privately.

I here ya! I did the same thing after seeing the new S.G. special blacked out, but my crush ended quickly after being given what I considered and low-ball trade-in number on my scooter. At least he didn't inflate the MSRP.

I did. After I was rear ended on my '13 Blackline in '15, I traded it in on a '15 Breakout. They added what I owed on the Blackine, to the cost of the Breakout. //sarcasm.

I sold my bike to a private party when I bought the limited, which I got for $1500 under MSRP. Didn't bother asking the HD dealer about trading, it wasn't an HD so I'm not sure they'd even would have wanted it.

The only thing flying out door at the dealers near me in Ohio is the customers. But if you do purchase do not trade, sell yours. If you finance do not use Harley, join a credit union.
Get pre-approved and make an offer then leave when they refuse (fly out the door).

I bought my 08 105th Ultra new in August of 07 for $22,500. That was a pretty good deal

OP~ What model HD do you want? Is it in "high demand?" That could have a bearing on how much the dealership will negotiate.

But, yes, dealers ARE dealing (around here, anyway.)
