Default New Jacket advice

I have a nice leather riding jacket. But I don't fit inside it so well these days. Have been thinking about a new one.
My problem is the only place local is the HD dealer. First I refuse to pay extra for having their huge name on my leather. Feel the same about helmets.
But realistically I just don't like any of them.

My second problem is what else can I do without driving 100 miles to a bigger city with more options? I don't know about buying online.

Also I am not sold on it having to be leather. but it has to be warm, aka windproof. Like, ride in 45 degree weather or colder as long as sun is shining.

So a zip in liner is good, mine has that now. I like it. Of course coat is way too small with the liner in. I just don't know what I want to do. I guess wait till it warms up and take a ride to go shopping

You can NOT go wrong with Fox Creek. So much posted about them. Search and just try to find anything negative.

Are you willing to investigate buying on-line? The very best options, unless you can travel to their retail outlets, are on-line. These retailers make their living dealing with folks like you and me who are hesitant. Believe me, they will take care of you to get the fit right, or whatever you might find wrong with an item they ship you.
I highly recommend Foxcreek if you can spend as much as HD dealer jackets. Awesome quality and customer service. Go on line and look at their style selections and then call them to talk through what you should order. They will take care of you, whatever it takes.

IMO, a good jacket is going to last you a long time. It's worth it to measure twice and cut once, so to speak. Do your homework, and don't be afraid to spend a little time, and maybe a little money to find the right one the first time.

I'd suggest finding an online store with a good return policy and find something you like and order a size you think will fit best, and if not exchange it.

But that would be my second choice to really going and seeing and trying on stuff in person. So gear is made very well and has a good fit and feel.... other stuff not so. Go with a budget in mind and if possible you find what you like in a store, look it up on your phone real quick to see if you can save some cash if you're willing to wait a few days for it to ship.

Color me a fan of Fox Creek Leather. A phone call to them costs nothing. Start a discussion and find out what they need in terms of your measurements. They will basically knock themselves out to help you get the right jacket and right size. Many of their styles include a removable insulated liner. If you miss on the size they will return it with no hassle and get you another one going. They DO offer customization where it's possible (from a stock jacket). One heck of a company doing superior work in a beautiful part of our world.

I like my Tourmaster with built in shoulder & elbow armor. Has some reflective strips and you can add a hard spine protector. Lots of vents you can unzip if it gets warm. And it's waterproof.
