For you guys that like a blacked out bike and a blacked out engine, what are your preference in terms of the ENGINE. On a bike with a traditional shiney paint job, that you might want to black out the motor, would you do gloss black, or the flatt/matte option?

but you have to be smart enough to highlight the engine as it is and in it's entirety .

I like the way the red and black bike looks, better than the black FatBoy, or you could say that I liked pic#2 better than pic#1.

 

Shiney for CVOS and Limiteds. Matte for cruisers. I'm very discriminating.

 

Or, there's a 3rd option... a combination of the two!

I did most of my Breakout in gloss, but went with matte om transmission covers, (top and side)
and the inner/outer primary covers, (with a gloss derby).
I also used matte on the gas tank center console, I think the contrast looks nice.

So with all of your experience here your two choices are plain,,
Glossy or shiney (your spelling not mine)
Matte or flat,,
It should be easy for you,, just wait for the poll to end.
Everyone else will decide what you want for your bike according to popular choice,,
that way you'll be the best.

 

I like the matte finish because it shows the chrome parts more.
