I like the matte black out look as well. Of course, there should be some contrast and highlights...

On my 2016 Softail Slim S, everything is blacked out, and what chrome there is, I customized by having it brushed so it has a satin chrome look.

I was hoping he would chime in. I've read thousands of his posts. And I almost always agree with his logic. And 6 months ago I liked the flatter look. Till my brother bought home his 2018 Road Glide with the gloss black motor. And I was like..... Yikes! This thing is bada$$.

I vote gloss. I have a Vivid Black Slim now with everything in Gloss. I had a Deuce that had the engine and trans in Matte except for chrome accents. The matte looked really good but was hard to keep looking good. The glossy always looks good without a lot of work. I would rather ride than clean.
