Bike Weeks in Daytona & Myrtle Beach
I am thinking about going, but I wanted to ask those who have been which one would be your choice. I have been to Myrtle Beach, but it was 12 year's ago. There's only 1.5 hours difference in the drive for me, 5 to Myrtle and 6.5 to Daytona. I also only want to spend a couple of days, maybe a Friday and Saturday and drive home Sunday, can't miss but so much work. I am also planning on going to Sturgis this year for the first time. Thinking about leaving Friday after work and getting to Sturgis on Sunday the 5th and leaving on the next Saturday morning the 11th. Also want to know if that's a good plan. Just wondering if there is something that I wouldn't want to miss by not being there for the weekends? I am not a drinker, but do like to people watch and see all the bikes.
I am open to any suggestions of things to do with these events (things to see and do).
Thanks Allen

If Daytona is New York City, then Myrtle Beach is Richmond. I have been to both over a half dozen times. Lots more to see in Daytona but the weather may be cooler. Vendors galore. Many more gathering places and variety of bikes. Myrtle Beach is OK for a place that doesn’t want you there but it is about 25% as large.

I have been to both the Myrtle spring and fall as well as the Daytona spring and fall rallies multiple times.
Both are fun but Daytona is by far bigger with a whole lot more to do. My only complaint is we have left in snow, rain and freezing temps more than I care to remember for Daytona spring rallies.
The thing I like about Daytona is the demo rides from the speedway. I spend a day there riding and checking out vendors.

Daytona has more going on than Myrtle Beach. Main St, Beach St, the Speedway & the Ormond Strip are the places I would head to. I'd suggest the last weekend if people watching is a priority, as that Sat is Daytona's big day and night.
Imo, you won't miss much by missing the weekends at Sturgis. Most of the stuff happens during the week and Fri seems to be the last big day & nite, while Sat is a get-away day from there, especially for people riding bikes home.
