I worked and became friends with a couple of Mexican engineers there. There were taquerias everywhere but these guys knew the places to go. I'm sure they have some good ones down your way in Texas, but these places we went to in Mexicali were darn good also. Each one of them had their own recipe for salsa. I'd eat them till I was stuffed. I've been in different Mexican places in the U.S., several owned by Mexicans but they just weren't as good.
I'm making myself hungry.

Rode down to Ensenada via the "quota." That toll road is in better condition than the freeways/highways in the USA. Toll from San Ysidro to Ensenada? $2.70 per bike each way. Had a great time there.
Here's a few pics...

Me either. There's parts of Phoenix that I'm sure look just like Tijuana or Juarez.

I went to Mexico 40 years ago when I was stationed in SoCal. It was "safe" back then.

My wife works in Mexico 3 months a year for the last 25 years. I go a few times a year. The "little woman" has never had one single problem. I have never had one issue.

Don't listen to half the crap from guys on cruise ships who have been there 3 hours in their life. Don't listen to the *****"s that are afraid of anyone that is not American. If you don't ask for trouble, you will avoid it. Safer than Detroit.

If you ride to Mexico you will be lucky to get out alive.

It is a ***thole.

I don't know why we allow people into the USA from ***thole countries.

Wait, didn't someone else make that point recently?
