Default Mirrors moving

I like the mirrors on my bike, but they move on the ball pivot when I’m riding. Anyone have any ideas on how to tighten these up so they stay put? Thanks.

There is a three pronged part inside that holds the ball. Most likely it’s broke. I have seen videos where the mirror is heated and removed. I forget off hand how they fixed the popped prong.

I had the same problem on my Dyna. Read all the threads on how to fix ‘em. Nothing worked long term. Eventually had to replace them.

Well, I’ll try heat and taking them apart. If they break, they break and I’ll get new ones. Thanks for the replies.

Get them where you want them and put some loctite on it.
Other than that, replace them.

A couple of times I've scored mirrors that were in excellent shape on ebay. Around $25.

My left mirror kept moving. I got it where I wanted it, took it off, laid it mirror down and dropped some superglue on the ball and socket. Set overnight. Problem solved until I bumped into it while walking past the bike a few days later. Repeat.

if you can't fix it with duct tape and/or zip ties, you need a new mirror.
