Taken on the ride home from Fargo, ND to N.E.WA., by way of 200S.
Taken later that night at a gas station in Lincoln, MT. where I pulled over to check for damage under the lights.
I barely missed the little bastard with the front end but clipped his *** with my trailer. As I wobbled and weaved, regaining control of the bike, I glanced in the rear view and saw the stupid little forest rat spinning around like a top in the middle of the road. That's as close as I think I'll ever get and still manage to stay upright.
I don't count the ones in 4 wheels. You're not an official resident of Northern Idaho until you've hit a deer.

Here's a link to a Google Maps street view I discovered while virtually "traveling" through Wyoming. It shows the Google Maps car hitting a deer. Keep clicking forward little by little, and eventually you'll need to turn to the left and then behind you to see it all.
Stupid deer.

wide open country too...ya'd think the deer could have had some avoidance there.
Speaking of "hitting birds" from some posts above...I took a seagull to my head, going down by the beach. Hit pretty good, I remember my neck hurting. But the worse part..gashed my scalp a bit...instead curtain of blood coming down the front of my face. Was early spring so the water was still ice cold but I had to go run in and dunk my head to wash off. Brrrrr.

Several close calls with deer, but lucky so far. Really try to avoid dusk/dawn and night riding. Those pesky things are so unpredictable. Passed by several moose on the side of the road while riding through New Brunswick a couple of years back. Hitting one of those would almost certainly be the end......
