Default Baker Compensator Inspection - 1 yr later

Hey ya'll,

Just passing this along as a datapoint. Pics of my compensator installed last year...I was a little light on miles in 2017, only about 3,000 or so. Lobes definitely have some wear to them, however, it mostly on the surface. I can put up some pics of the OEM compensator, that actually wore flats on the cam surfaces.

I had to pull the outer primary cover to install an attitude adjuster and figured it would be a good idea to check on the comp.

Full disclosure: the teeth on my starter clutch looked like absolute sh**, so debris from that could have speed up any wear on the compensator.

Looks pretty good to this point. You are going to get some wear as it breaks in as it is metal to metal contact.

Splines look good, can't see the back side of the sprocket teeth but the front looks good. If the back side of the teeth look that good then I would say your chain alignment is within spec.

You'll be getting a call from me very shortly Mark; it's time to get this compensator and the primary chain tensioner done right. With snow up to my backside, the primary is my winter upgrade

Oh yea And it's cold up here in Michigan right now.

This is something I should have done last fall, but I knew 'winter was coming'
