Your triple tree works perfect as a vise.

 

Looking to change my sliders to chrome. Need to take the fork off to seat the seals, can’t do it with the uppers on.

 

Anyway, found one similar on eBay. Turns out you can’t buy tools from Harley, at least that one.

If you want to install new fork seals, can't you just take the legs off the tubes while the tubes are still in the triple tree?

 

Yes you can. Done it many times.

 

Elegant solution! A friend made up a beautiful pair of hardwood vise jaws for me that do the same thing, but they are limited by the max opening width of my vise, and I'm guessing they aren't going to work on my two new M8 Touring bikes. Yours is way better, and would never have occurred to me (maybe it would if I worked with wood frequently).

 

Maybe this guy still makes them?
