I'd like to think that it wasn't Dave's idea to turn you off from riding the Dragon. But it is probably a better idea if one is a seasoned rider; not someone in their first year of riding (especially handling a tour bike). In 2012 I tackled the Dragon and thought I would do fairly well with many years of riding under my belt. The first run (from Deals Gap toward TN) I took it nice and slow (the speed limit) and when I got to the little satellite HD store - I felt relieved. I rode it 2 more times and felt that my riding was getting stronger with each run. However, I couldn't agree more with Dave......it is NOT for sight seeing. It challenges each rider to ride at their absolute best with eyes on the road or........
