This^^^^^

Hate it when two cars stay side by side for miles dead on the spead limit or slightly under.

Traffic that is exiting or entering the highway use the outside lanes and traffic that is not getting on or off the highway uses the inside lane. This keeps traffic moving more smoothly while traveling through an urban area.
But people seem to accept the idea that the inside lane is for going over the speed limit and "hot rodding".

My wife's uncle, who I knew well, (RIP, Lou), was a retired CHP officer.

One of his favorite statements was: "The left lane is not reserved for speeders."

Make of that what you will.

Sorry Evo but you’re wrong. In some states, VA for one you can be ticketed for not moving right and allowing faster traffic the right of way.

Slow traffic keeping to the right is pretty well a universal law.. Like having to stop for a red light or using headlights at night.

For example, here's the wording for Idaho's Title 49 - Rules of the Road. (If you search, you'll find similar wording for the traffic laws of your local state or province).

Upon all highways any vehicle proceeding at less than normal speed of traffic at the time and place and
under the conditions then existing, shall be driven in the right-hand lane available for traffic, or as
close as practicable to the right-hand curb or edge of the highway, except when overtaking and passing
another vehicle proceeding in the same direction or when preparing for a left turn at an intersection
or into a private road or driveway.

Evo is not saying it's illegal, sounds like he's saying it annoys him when people pass him in the inside lane
