The 2017 Road King Special.

Good job Cycle World. I went with the 2017 SGS because I wanted the fairing but that RKS is one heck of a good looking bike.
I was surprised that no Indians made the list, I'm sure they'll blame it on bias.

Yeah the RKS is a sweet bike. I rode one in Daytona and really like it. But for touring it lacks all the things We need and enjoy.
Congrats HD.
There were a few bikes selct d that I have not heard of?
As for Indian they really have nothing but a copy of each HD group with ugly fenders.

Thought it would be the GoldWing of 2017.
Unfortunately, the "new, improved" 2018 GW leaves a lot to be desired (from riders I've talked to.)
They feel Honda has lost their way, when it comes to touring. Sales will tell them if it was a good idea to shake up the GW fans.
I know Dyna fans feel like Charger fans. Left out in the cold...

I don't think a lot of reviewers think about touring in the same way some of us do. I think of touring as 2 up, for at least 2 weeks, even with 3star accommodations, everything packed on the bike.
That's why I have the TriGlide, and a RoadKing. In Southern California, a day ride is 300 miles, which is great on the RoadKing. But, I wouldn't want to do 4,000 miles 2up on the RoadKing.
Your opinion may vary. But, I don't care...

I rode an Indian Chieftain for three years before I bought my SGS. Indian does indeed make a nice bike and I expected to see a Chieftain Limited or a RM in the list somewhere. I enjoy both Harley and Indian and would own both if money was no object.
