Default Went for a ride it was #$@! cold!

Here we are on December 2nd and there's no snow on the ground up here. I had put my bike away a few weeks ago but today I decided to pull it out of the basement and go for a ride. Temperature was a nice uncomfortable 26 degrees at 10AM. I wore long johns jeans and insulated snow pants, sweatshirt, winter jacket and a full face helmet...

Coldest damn ride of my life and never again.... Sure did feel good to ride though. Before today's ride the coldest ever was maybe high 30's. The bike is going back in the basement tomorrow where it's staying until spring. You guys living in colder climates who ride year round have my respect!

I have a snowmobile 1 piece suit, that with heated grips, good gloves and a windshield and I routinely commute 15 miles to work into the low 20's. don't know if I could go longer, at highway speeds, and I aint gonna find out.

It took a while, but I learned that heated gear makes ALL the difference

26 degrees? DAMN, that is cold. It was 52 here, when I left this morning. I know, I'm spoiled.

Well I was half way there! I use to enjoy that year round riding thing when I was living out there...

Yeah, was out today (in the car) and noticed a couple of bikes coming the other way.....they didn't look happy; although I admit if I could only ride on the weekends (I'm retired) I would push the riding season as much as I could. Me? bike has been put away for a couple of weeks.....can't wait for spring. <sigh>

I was out today on the dual sport, just 49 degrees, and very comfortable with an Olympia one-piece and Joe Rocket gauntlets. What was cold was face from my AGV MX helmet with OTG goggles. I've been commuting to work on and off in the high 40's/low 50's with the RK and heated grips. Thinking about long underwear and leathers for a CBR ride tomorrow, if the temp is 50+.

Heated gear is really the way to go for a Northeast winter. Me? In a few weeks I'm heading to SW Florida, and my problem will be ATGATT in 85+ degree temps and humidity.

Rode 150+ miles today. It was 74, perfect. It gets so dam hot in the summer it is no fun. Not the same as the cold, but they don't make AC gear. If they did I would be all over it
