Well if you are walking/riding around with your arms up and you don't want your belly hangin' out in the breeze, then yes it is too small.

How do the arms and chest fit? If they are good then keep it, and don't wear it while hanging from monkey bars. And wear a proper fitting shirt under it.

BTW...I'm 240# and 6'1" and my XL HD jacket fits well.

Oh yeah...is "gifted it" the new world term for receiving it as a gift?

It seems too short.

Higher than your belly button is really high up. Plus add to that you are questioning its length.

The above 2 together tells me re-gifting or returning it for another one may be in order.

First of all, a leather jacket that is designed for riding a motorcycle will not look as sleek or as well fitted as a casual dress leather jacket.

Many of us are built differently and many of us also have preferences as to who we like our clothes to fit.

IMO (and my preference) for a leather motorcycle jacket fit, the jacket sleeves should extend over the gauntlets of your leather gloves when your are arms outstretched and your hands on the grips of your handlebars.
The bottom of the jacket should be well below your beltline when you are sitting on your bike.
He purpose of a leather riding jacket is to protect you from the elements, especially the wind.
As for body fit, I don't like my jacket so tight that I cannot comfortably wear either a sweatshirt or a hoodie over a T-shirt under the jacket.
the has to be a "gap" between your and the leather, that along with clothing creates a layer of insulation.
Ambient air temperature and wind will cool the jacket but you will be protected by the insulation factor and maintain the heat that your body generates.
I'd also recommend a leather, fur lined, zippered heck "dickey" to further windproof your body on cold rides.

I'm 6'1" and 210 and I have a XL jacket but it's long, like a suit would fit you, just not as long. My sleeves are probably shorter than the body of the jacket. The old style 10 zipper bike jackets from the 50s were short. The picture of the jacket looks short.

it may be just fine. problem with leather is, it's stiff. it may be cut short at the waist because, once you sit down on a bike, bend your knees and get comfortable... the jacket will hit your legs and rise up on you or wrinkle at the chest, if not tucking up hard against your neck.

put it on and go sit on your bike. you don't get the jacket for walking around with your arms up in the air. well... at least, most of us don't.

Do you have 26" Apes on your bike?

If yes, then it's too small.
