Just wondering if can get some insights. I just bought a 1995 Sporty. I've been reading this news site about Bikers . I've always heard about motorcycle clubs , I'm not very familiar with them since this is just the first bike I've owned. How accurate is this article ? Reason I ask is because I friend of mine invited me to hang out with him and some that are in a small club. I do not know if the club is approved ,Don't really know what that means

You would be better served if you join your local HOG chapter...if you are in between a couple HD dealerships, their meeting are free to attend, no need to join unless you get moved by one of them....

 

HOG, Southern Cruisers.etc"... Lots of Groups that enjoy bikes, plan rides and have potential to become good friends.
But if your buddies club meets in Gary on a back street and late at night... Then maybe you need a bigger bike.

 

It's not the small clubs that you need to worry about, other than they're wannabes, which might make a few dangerous.

 

I was a charter member of the "Black Widows" m/c. At that time, there were only 8 members and only 4 bikes. Three of the bikes were sporty's.

Only one ever ran.

It was a great club.

Go to www.meetup.com, and find a local riding club, or the local HOG chapter. You need to stay away from any of the 1% MC's unless you want to commit to that lifestyle.

 

Hang out with them and wear your SOA gear to make a real impression.
Don't forget your chaps.
