Any regrets switching to smoke lens
#11
Was thinking about going to the smoke lenses for turn signals anyway, since I can get them off eBay for about $3/pair or about $10 for all 4 with amber bulbs, and was also considering changing the taillight to an LED for about $25-30 (with integrated turn signals in it), but also wanted to be sure that they will be bright enough and not too dim. Thanks for the info.

You couldn't make me put darker lenses on anything. On my last bike, I had clear and on this bike, I have colored ones.
I know on cars/trucks, when the lights are on with dark lenses, they're barely visible. When they're stopping, it looks like they should when they're on. I know in some states they're illegal. I sure wish they'd do that in Texas.

I left my tail light red but I switched out my turn signals to smokey lenses and I don't regret a thing.

When it comes to cars/trucks youre probably seeing tinted lenses....which is pretty much window tint applied to your brake lights. And yes, that is dark and makes it near impossible to see. I've seen a lot of stupid stuff on cars including spray painting the brake light covers to match the paint color.
I can tell you CD LEDs with the smoked lenses are brighter than stock. I'm sure most brands are but CD is the only one I have experience with. As well of a few others in this thread who've stated the same.
