I carry a tactical folding knife with a serrated blade, seat belt cutter, and window punch. I used it once when an accident occurred about 1/2 mile in front of me which resulted in one of the vehicles overturned. I was able to punch out (with the punch on the knife handle) the window, cut the seat belt, and remove the occupant.

Don't leave home without it.

Pocket Knives, It is better to have one and not need it, than it is to need it and not have one

I have a bunch of different clip pocket knifes. Some my truck, work truck, on bike, tool box, in cabinet by the front door of house as well as everyday carry.

It's the one tool that I put probably use everyday!

Happy Thanksgiving Day.

I probably have a variety of 20-knives laying around and every vehicle has one (somewhere). Used for cutting wires, opening packaging, gutting fresh-kill for eating, etc. Never leave home w/o one.

FWIW Never used a pocket knife for a bike repair in decades of riding.
However, tools kits yes. Screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, duct tape.
As mentioned above Leatherman (etal) mutli tool maybe better option than Swiss Army knife or straight blade.

once sold my pocket knife for gas money.

I once used my pocket knife to do a valve job to my XLCH.
I had been attacked by a wild band of screaming Ubangies and fought them long and hard with my trusty blade.
Upon discovering my cylinder pressure was down I immediately whipped out said impliment and after removing the top end with the attached church key I began the ardurous work of decarbonizing each valve pocket.
Luckily this afforded me the opportunity to flee as the Ubangies returned later that night.
After that close call you can be sure I NEVER leave home without it.

Only once on the bike. Sitting at a stoplight, and some car pulled next to me in my own lane. Wasn't the first time, but he was so close, I was able to reach down and shove my pocketknife through the sidewall of his front tire. Go ahead, call a cop, then explain how you initiated it. You get tired of being bullied by some *** in a 4000 vehicle.
The rest of the time, just used for shipments I get at work.

I grew up on a farm, and a pocket knife was always in my pocket. I've had many over the years, but the one I carry now, for the past 18 years is a Boker. Use on the bike? Maybe once or twice for something. But to me, carrying a pocket knife is just as normal as carrying your wallet. the only time I am without is when flying/traveling, and now, at MSU basketball games.
