My budget put me into a pair of Progressive 444's a couple of months ago for my 2010 Dyna Super Glide. I'd love a pair of Ohlins but at $539 from Eastern Performance Cycles {no tax or freight} the 444's seem to meet my needs very well.

With them at the lightest setting my 185# generates a little over half an inch of SAG and with my 132# bride aboard we are right at 1". The ride either way is awesome and over time I still can dial in 9 revolutions of additional stiffness.

Just for grins I cranked in 2.5 turns the other day just to see how it would ride. I felt the stiffness and planned to put them back but said nothing to my bride. She noticed a huge difference immediately and asked me to put them back... which of course I did.

If you ever have any issues twisting your shocks to adjust them {as some can be very stiff} I stumbled on an easy fix... just take a strap wrench and wrap the rubber strap around the top and they turn very easily, albeit about 1/3 of a revolution at a time.

 

Thanks for another good thread on shocks. I've been reading all I can find on rear shocks. I still have the originals on my Road King and am trying to decide
what would be the best replacement. Just gathering all the info I can find as I want to make the best move for the cost involved.
