Winter Maintenance and Storage For Your Harley-Davidson
#12
Here in NY I try to keep riding as long as the roads are salt and crud free. I do wash and wax the bike before the winter, and give it a Washdown after winter rides as long as it's above freezing to keep corrosion at bay. I check the tires more often and keep em at the proper psi.
If we get into one of those long periods of bad weather I fill the tank, stabilize the gas, put it up on the Jack and put the battery tender on it until a good rain washes the crap off of the roads.
So far so good - so I guess it works.

It's 7 degrees this morning in Wisconsin. Time for Curling, not riding.
I did see a guy riding his Rushmore Ultra last night. It was 19 degrees. The roads still don't have salt on them, but that's too damn cold for me.
I never put Stabil in my bike, so I'm hoping for one last ride when it warms up to 40 next week.
