Selling a bike is a royal pain in the @$$. Seriously.

Unless I know someone who’s looking, like a friend of a friend or something, I’m gonna trade. I know I won’t get top dollar, but I also don’t have to deal with Joe Q. Jackwad either not showing up to see it, trying to lowball me, wanting to test ride it to his friend the mechanic 3 states over, or worse. Frankly, I think most people suck, and if I have to take trade value from a dealer to avoid dealing with them, well, that’s the price I pay. If I don’t like the deal, I keep my existing bike. It really is that simple.

Not thrilled with the offer and disappointed with $13k trade value. I expect to continue the negotiation but thoughts on the overall numbers, especially TradeIn? FatBoy is pretty much stock. MINT condition.

All bikes relatively new are mint. I think the $13k is pretty good

1,400 miles in two years? I'd ride the FB more

10 months, not 2 years. Bike was purchased in December 2016 and went straight to garage. Started riding in April-ish / May-ish.

My '14 Dyna Superglide might be worth $12,000 in trade if I pay $4000 over msrp for the new bike.
Trade value all depends on what you are paying for the new bike.
Trade and purchase should be two separate negotiations. Don't discuss one without settling the other.

I would rather have a '16 Fatboy that's on fire than a new '018. So would many, I suspect.
As would MANY.
Which is why I was careful to point out that HARLEY considers a lot of that unnecessary ugliness, and unwanted technology.... An upgrade.
