Awesome pic.

This post was hard to type because I burned myself on the iron going around buttons. Damn instructor gave me shitty classroom instruction before letting me put it into practice.

It's kind of cool that experience programs your brain to automatically know at what speed you steer in the direction you want to go, then at a faster speed you countersteer/lean.

Btw...countersteering merely puts you quickly into the lean.

Is counter steering anything like counter surfing?

Shifting your weight may not do much to get the bike onto its sidewall as the wheels are acting as gyroscopes and resist tipping the bike much ESPECIALLY AT SPEED when the gyroscope effect is strongest.
Yet by pushing forward HARD on the left handlebar your wheel points RIGHT for a second but it also forces the front end to start chewing on the LEFT sidewall of the tire because the wheel has been twisted to the right.
This gets you off the center contact patch and makes the bike swerve LEFT.
Motorcycles are two wheeled gyroscopes and can not be easily TURNED.
They have to be swerved by getting them over onto the SIDE of the tire..
How it was described to me is by turning the wheel the opposite way, you're driving the front wheel out from under the bike making it lean over. Turning into the turn puts the wheel further under the bike making it stand up.

Next thing will be someone posting that you can't counter steer a trike.

But then they never rode on on wet roads, gravel roads, sand roads, off road or on snow or ice. Some folks just haven't lived.

Dog pile becomes galactically huge. Mods take notice.

More diagrams.

The arrival of 1 or 2 rational members who try to support the newbie and guide him through the learning process.

Newby instinctively goes for the jugular of rational members.

Rational members bail.

Dog pile now is like the Borg - it assimilates all who enter.

Mods step up the game with sternly worded intervention - "knock it off guys or the thread is closed!"

Mods ignored by all because the goal is to get the thread closed.

Newby implodes and puts everyone on HDF on his ignore list, but continues to post his Google knowledge with, yes, more diagrams.

Yours truly inserts completely unrelated and totally stupid gifs to eat up bandwidth.

More Diagrams.

More gifs.

Did I mention diagrams?

Finally thread gets closed by Izzo who receives a record number of "Thanks".
OMG this is so funny I'm almost crying!! That's pretty much how it went too. I couldn't get out man.
