Yup, I have about a half inch or so on each side and scrape the pegs often

Default Warn out!!!!

That white break out looks like it has a whole other riding season on it. This is what my metzler 880 rear looks like at 14k and will get 1 more month out of it

This is just for a bench mark !!!!! so you know what a warn out tire looks like .
And for some that see that small nail hole , yes that is a patch on the inside

Sorry for all those I just offended, but he asked
AHH!! you beat me to it. A car tire on a breakout might look pretty cool actually. I'll probably get 40,000 miles on my rear tires. Love it!!

If you're talking about mine, that was with less than 1,000 miles on it, lol, so I hope I have another season on it!!

To me, it looks like that tire wore out long ago...just because it's been on there 14k, doesn't mean it lasted 14k...The usable rubber is long gone; your running it on fumes...it's your life.

PS> Metzeler says the tire is shot when 2mm of center tread is left; where's your center tread? All you have left if side tread.

Here's what a new tire looks like; complete with center tread...

Ran Metzeler 18 inch 150 888's for years on the rear of my fatboy. I would average about 5000 miles on the back and about 7500 on the front...140s. Switched to Commander 2s after an engine build and changed the rear tire last week...due to a screw hole...but the rear still had a lot more mileage left at 6000 miles

The commanders are not as grippy but it is just a slight difference and have adjusted riding style to compensate. I think I am sticking with the Commanders going forward. About twice the longevity in my experience.

Lotsa good opinions, wonder what the best grippiest wet road tire is, don't really care about mileage.

Avon's no question. Made a by a company on an island country known for wet weather and miserable roads.

At one time, I had some Avon Venoms on my Springer, they were definitely great for riding in the rain we get here in the PNW.
