Not pleased with the tire mileage...

Since you ride a breakout, Im sure the chickenstrips you have down the middle are worn out. You can easily get more miles out of it by riding twisty road. Stock dunlops are good for 10-18K miles depending what roads you ride and how aggressive you are on the throttle. Find a different brand and find out for yourself.
I run continentals on the rear and a pirelli night dragon up front. Who says you cant mix up brands. People do it all the time on their dirt bikes to see what the best combo for grip. It's no different than doing it on the street.

I have a 2017 Breakout, I have a 107 kit in it and I ride it like I stole it, no chicken strips here. That said, with 3500 miles on the bike the rear tire is almost done, I may have another 1000 miles in it, but I don"t care much. I have a Metzeler 260-40-18 sitting in the garage waiting to go on this winter. Looking forward to real tires on my bike. Don't lose any sleep over it, wear them out and move on.

chicken strips down the middle of the tire??? Chicken strips are at the edges of the tires that hardly ever get worn out...why??? Well on sport bikes where this saying originated from it was because you were too chicken to lean over far enough to wear out the edges of your tires. He'll get more miles riding on twisty roads??? I'll leave that one alone but thanks for the laughs.

As someone else stated, lots of variables. I use the stock Dunlop's on my Fatboy and get about 15K on the rear and twice that on the front. I have Michelin Scorcher 31's on my Sportster and so far have 13,500 on the rear and only 1/2 worn on the front. I tend to ride both bikes a little hard but always check the pressures prior to each days ride and adjust them to factory specs. Fatboy - 36 front / 36 rear, Sportster 36 front /40 rear. I wonder how often the OP checks the tire pressures?
