California Air Resources Board, same problem Rich products is currently pushing through. Rinehart has a whole page dedicated to the California regime.

My dealer in Calif sells bikes with Rinehart slip-ons on them (new bikes) but as a regular Joe, you can't call Rinehart and get anything shipped to a Calif address or purchase with a credit card with a Calif address linked to it.
Big internet retailers like Dennis Kirk won't ship to Calif either. California and a couple other states are adopting the euro4 and upcoming euro 5 emissions.
This is the Paris climate accord in action and California is attempting to follow suit.

It's not just California, all states will eventually be where we are, I'd give it 3 years max. Aftermarket exhaust will eventually be outlawed altogether or it will be no better than a stock exhaust system.

V&H puts out the FP3 with zero instructions on how to use the features. Even their crappy LCD tuner was top secret on how to use. Every time I needed to make an adjustment I had to call them. God forbid it was off hours. Also they been selling $700 drag pipes for a while.
Maybe people are realizing there's other players in the game making more reasonable products.

As we lament the end of the loud pipes generation, we have only ourselves to blame.

Drag pipes--in the past
I've been noticing the past decade or so that outrageously loud drag pipes are basically non-existent. As are other overly loud exhaust systems. No need for 'em as they actually hurt performance and all reasonable people (incl cops and bikers) hate your guts for using them.
Exhaust technology has taken great advances in recent years. The aftermarket will adapt.
Also, no one objects to that righteous Harley rumble; they object to the jerks.
