Damn idiot neighbors blocking my bike
I live in an apartment building and purchased my first bike this year in late april. I had been keeping it in a friends garage down the road but came to find out he was taking the thing on joy rides when I wasn't looking so hes no longer a friend in my opinion.
So I rode it back to my place yesterday park it, go back get my car and park it in-front of the bike as thats the apartments policy, to take up 1 parking spot so everyone has room to park.
So I go out later in the day and I see storm clouds so I take my car to run a few errands etc.. I come back 2 hours later and somebody parked a god damn SUV in front of my bike, about an inch away from the damn bike. I was pissed to say the least. I cannot believe how stupid people are, I couldnt take a quick ride because I couldnt get the damn bike out, I had to get lucky and people next to bike left and I could barely squeeze it out by riding thru some soft dirt (on a heritage classic) that I thought the bike was gonna sink into to get the angle.
Wonder how they would like it if they came out to go to work one day and I was parked right behind them so they couldnt leave. Im gonna bitch to the land-lord not that it will do anything, now I have to move the bike up farther out in the parking spot when I leave and hope one of these idiots doesnt hit the bike pulling in.

I think you can have the vehicle ticketed when they do that to you.

Whenever you move your car, just put the bike in it's place. I know it's a pain in the ****, but problem solved. If you're concerned about someone pulling in on top of it, make sure to park it square in the middle. A big bike like that will be seen just as well as one of those new little Toyotas.

in south boston, when you havea spot taken or blocked by a neighbor, it is expected that you will go up on the roof and drop at least 1 cinder block through windshield of said offender. It happens all the time up here in boston,ma. tire slashing/ pinstripping with sharp object is o.k. and expected. Do that and I guarantee that your neighbor will find another place to park his chit-box.

I would keep it in your ex-friends garage. Give him some money and take the keys. Apartment living and owning a bike without a garage sucks. I couldn't sleep at night knowing my bike is out therearound all the stupid d_ck slaps.

are they assigned parking spots ?
if so then just call and have it towed it is their responce ability not yours and they have to pay to get their car back
otherwise you are screwed from a legal standpoint

by the time he has car fixed, you will have found new spot. Trust me on this, he will get the message. It is a tried and true method. It has been going on up here for many.many years. The mayor can't even stop it. he has tried and failed . Now he just asks people to be "neighborly" on t.v. It's kind of funny. but it works.
