Default Harley Heated hand grips

I bought some LA chopper plug and play Handelbars for my 2013 limited. Had to hook up grips to hot wire under fairing. They were working when I left shop. Then went on ride few months later on a cool morning and they didn't work. Anybody had any problems with Harley heated grips?

Put them on my '16 Road Glide about a year ago, still working fine, though I haven't needed them much lately. I expect to give them a workout next week, morning temps are expected to be in the 30's where we are going.

I've had the HD heated grips on my 15RGS for over 2 years now with no issues. You gotta get the plain factory looking heated grips. Those are the 1's that work the best and last the longest. The fancy looking HD heated grips for whatever burn out constantly. I remember the HD Service manager telling me they won't warranty them and try to talk people out of installing them cause of all the problems they've had.

There seem to be some consistent complaints on the P&A heated grips from time to time. There are way fewer complaints on the factory ones that come on certain bikes. The ones on my Limited have worked fine for the past 4 seasons. Just used them this morning, in fact. Commute was a chilly 48 degrees.

Yeah I had the plain ones before I switched to the chrome and rubber ones. The plain ones got sticky hot. I'm not impressed with the other ones.

Pop off the round cover on the end of the right hand grip. There is a small 2-prong plug that plugs into the end of the throttle module. Check that it hasn't worked itself unplugged.

The only problem I've had with mine is that they get TOO FREAKING HOT!!! I turn them up to
1, maybe 2. Higher than that and I'm afraid they'll burst into flame!

this - seems like if they stop working, nine times outta ten the fuse is blown.

I've got the plain HD heated grips and I love them. I doubt I'll ever have another bike without heated grips.

Default Grips

Stock OEM heated grips fitted back in 2011, they're the stocky black grips. 6 years old on second set of bars, never missed a beat.

Too hot though, never had them past 2 of 6 and that's on an un-faired Road King.
